RICK SHAVER

Lighting Design: Rick designs interior and landscape lighting systems for residences and commercial and institutional projects including schools, libraries, offices, museums, galleries, restaurants, churches and retail establishments.

Rick established Richard Shaver Architectural Lighting in 1979. He is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, the recipient of six of the Society’s Lumen Awards for Design Excellence, and lighting certified by NCQLP.

Lighting Systems Design: Rick has consulted for boutique lighting manufacturer Edison Price Lighting, where he directed new product development, application engineering, and photometric testing. He led the design and introduction of unique LED fixtures and a complete redesign of the company’s acclaimed track lighting system, installed in over 300 museums world-wide.

EVAN DeCAVALCANTI

Lighting Design: Evan is Rick’s in-the-field assistant, advising our residential and institutional clients, retrofitting systems, managing optical accessories, modifying and specifying fixtures, as well as climbing innumerable ladders in pursuit of the perfect beamspread.

Other Lighting Expertise: Evan is also an assistant in the research and design of LED lighting fixtures and systems at Edison Price Lighting, where he additionally supervises the lighting of EPL’s in-house art gallery.

He is a growing presence in the New York City lighting community, frequently co-leading presentations (“Light in Action”) to groups of clients with Rick, as well as supporting EPL’s trade show presence and sales initiatives.

ALEX DEMIDOVICH

Alex plays a key role in running light level calculations using visual lighting software for each of our projects. He also is instrumental in demonstrating lighting products to clients in our office or theirs, and in assisting with budgets, samples and technical questions.

An honors graduate of the Architectural Engineering program, specializing in Lighting Design, at the University of Colorado, Alex has been a familiar and welcome face to everyone in the lighting community in the New York City area for over a decade.
